The building of the hotel was built in the early 17th century and as such is of the great historical importance. The hotel takes care that all renovations are done by strict archaeological and preservation rules to keep the originality of the building. During the recent renovation, remains of the best preserved Roman Spa in the region were fund and at the moment the hotel is working on making them approachable to tourist as an exhibition area.

By keeping guests informed about cultural events such as Split Summer Festival and others, the hotel is promoting local culture and tradition.
