Villa Varoš is named after its location-Varoš, the suburb of Diocletian Palace. In history, the Palace and its closest surrounding was home to wealthy and noble people of Split, while poor people, laborers, fisherman and all common people were living in their stone houses and tiny, narrow streets of suburbs like Varoš or Radunica. The Mediterranean spirit of children playing on the streets, man playing cards in front of their houses, woman talking over balconies still lives in these areas and therefore they are attracted by many tourists as more and more houses are being renovated and parts of them rented as rooms or guesthouses.
Villa Varoš is one the finest examples of such houses and makes and an excellent choice for those who seek for authentic Split experience.
